Life And Death Thru A Animals Eyes
Animals mills of, birds, puppies , kittens, are nothing new.
These mass animal breeding operations have been around for decades.
They continue to thrive because they prey on unwitting consumers who
are smitten by too-cute-for-words pets in pet store windows and on fancy web sites.
But behind the friendly facade of the local pet shop, the pastoral
scenes on a "breeder's" web site, or the neighborhood newspaper ad, there often lies a animal mill.
These breeding facilities house animals in shockingly poor conditions.
Life is particularly bad for "breeding stock," animals and birds who live
their entire lives in cages and are continually bred for years,
without human companionship and with little hope of ever becoming part of a family.
These animals receive little or no veterinary care and never see a bed,
a treat or a toy or proper nutrition.
After their fertility wanes, breeding animals are commonly killed,
abandoned or sold to another mill.
These are the pets you are buying for tommy or susie and they have serious
health issues "diseases or birth deformaties" and need
expensive medical treatment or do not live their expected life span.
The annual result of all this breeding is hundreds of thousands of animals ,
many with behavior and or have severe health problems and sadly have to experience humane euthanasia.
It's easy for people to shake their heads and murmur how terrible all this is, but it doesn't affect THEM.
Pet profiteering affects EVERYBODY, one way or the other.
Sadly, tax dollars are used to underwrite a variety of animal abuses,
including rodeos, foie gras production, trophy hunting of elephants in Africa,
battery cages used in egg production,
the mink-coat industry and the cruel practice of dog racing, among others.
If you object to your taxes being used to subsidize animal abuse, either on a
state or federal level, tell your elected officials!
We would like to aid help in people finding healthy, loving, life long animal companions.
Please everyone adopt from shelters and rescues, or from reputable breeders.
You as consumers support animals mills by purchasing animals through
these types of dealers , pet stores , news paper ads , breeders and
dealers, animal brokers. By adopting you are helping to stop the demand that fuels this cruel industry...
And of course by doing so ,we hope to enlist your aid in putting an end to the
form of institutionalized animal cruelty known as "animal mills".
thank you
